UPCON and CCMB hosts an annual full day symposium every January, for family physicians and primary health care providers to learn more about caring for patients with cancer.
Presentations by a variety of CCMB experts on cancer prevention and screening and on follow-up issues for the major cancer sites have been the focus of past programs.
Family physicians have historically provided care with a focus on health promotion, screening and prevention, and will be looking after more and more cancer patients in follow-up care in the years to come.
