Experimental therapeutics of neuromuscular diseases

Description: Education:
This conference provides both didactic and participatory education for
clinical trainees and junior faculty. Having the opportunity to see the
challenges, strategies and successes of mentors/more experienced
clinicians investigators ? all in a collegial, informal setting –
will enrich the career training and mentoring of attendees. New
Collaborations: Almost all studies in these uncommon diseases are
multi-center: the conference also provides the senior investigators
opportunities to determine the appropriateness of sites and
investigators to participate in new trials. It provides an entry point
for new/junior trainees and investigators to become involved in
studies.
Presentations/mentoring: The poster sessions will allow junior
investigators and trainees to present their work for formal and
informal discussion.
Team building: The inclusion of clinical evaluators and research
coordinators will help all investigators to develop the skill
set/collaborations needed for embarking on clinical trials and other
clinical projects. Exchange of information: Scientific presentations
may lead to development of new protocols and improvements to existing
ones.
