Ella Helps Shine a Light

A three-year-old girl born with a rare illness is leading a charitable campaign to raise money for research into a potential cure for the condition.
Ella Chapple has Aniridia, a condition which affects just one baby in around 96,000 but can lead to worsening eyesight and eventually total blindness.
But together with her parents, James, 35, and Elly, 34, from Alnmouth, she is raising money for the Shine the Light on Aniridia campaign to fund research into the condition.
On Thursday, Ella's nursery, the Rainbow Day Nursery in Alnwick, will be doing its annual sponsored toddle through Hulne Park for the campaign.
Mrs Chapple said: "It is classed as rare but I seem to be meeting a huge number of people with it."
