His career blends several years of business and research experience, which is helpful in understand the evolving field of rare diseases and healthcare. Tatsuo Satoh has been responsible for the strategic planning and development of websites for organizations, such as BioValley, Checkbiotech, University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland and MCH Swiss Exhibition. Tatsuo has previously worked in infectious disease research both in academia at the University of Basel and the Swiss Tropical Institute as wells as in industry at Hoffmann-La Roche and Basilea Pharmaceutica. His extensive scientific background together with his experience in web development provides him with the necessary understanding to address the unmet needs in rare and neglected diseases in the internet.
Head of Marketing & Fundraising
Ian brings years of business development and nonprofit fundraising experience to his role as Head of Marketing & Sponsorships. A graduate of New York University, Ian worked on Seattle Symphony’s three-year campaign to raise $90 million to increase its permanent endowment and build a new concert hall. He then embarked on a career in international sales management, proving adept at building successful business relationships. Ian returned to the nonprofit world last year, joining CheckOrphan to find sponsors and partners to support the website's expansion into a versatile and dynamic community for people affected by rare diseases.
