Medulloblastoma: An overview

While the public is intimately aware of the word “cancer” and its implications, they are not always well versed with the numerous subtypes of cancer, such as medulloblastoma. Despite being the most common malignant childhood brain tumor, the basic details of the disease often go unpronounced. In this presentation, students of the Demystifying Medicine course at McMaster University introduce the disease by discussing the diagnosis, treatment and management of the condition. A fictional case study of a patient named Ron, a 12-year-old medulloblastoma survivor, is used to help introduce the disease and what it means for patients and their families.
